  It hurts the heart when inhaling causes what to do. Stitching pain in the heart: differences in heart pain from noncardiac

In the clinic of Dr. Ignatiev, it is not the first year that they successfully use methods for diagnosing pain in the heart area. Doctors at the medical center are sure that the disease is easier to prevent, try to pay.

Types of pain:

  • shooting pains are a sign of temporary infringement in the spinal nerves due to spasmodic contractions of muscle fibers, instability of the vertebrae. When the overlying vertebra is displaced relative to the underlying, infringement appears in the nerve roots. The vertebral mobile segment will become unstable while moving, while inhaling, turning the body;
  • aching pain is a symptom during protrusions, intervertebral hernia. In such situations there will be a squeeze of the nerve in spinal cord  disc out The severity of symptoms will depend on the size of the protrusion;
  • constant pain will be formed on the background of muscle hypertonus, spondylosisosteochondrosis with deformities of bone structures;
  • lumbago - pain with a sharp character, limited mobility in the spinal column. Appears when radiculitis, herniated disk.

At the first manifestations of persistent pain in the heart area, especially surrounding radicular pain with signs of compression of the spinal cord, first, it is necessary to exclude such causes as metastatic, primary tumors, infectious diseases. Pains in the heart area appear more and more often in the process of spreading of dystrophic phenomena on the intervertebral joints, when signs of spondyloarthrosis, osteochondrosis appear in the costal and vertebral joints, transverse costal joints. This process leads to the fact that intervertebral holes are narrowed. As a result, the nerve roots in the spinal cord, the nerve endings of the sympathetic fibers, are compressed. So develops pain syndrome  in the area of innervation of the affected nerve.

When squeezing the nerve sympathetic fibers that are needed to regulate work occurs internal organsA variety of disorders of the functions of these organs appear. As a rule, patients begin to complain of pain in the interscapular region. Pain can often be aggravated during movements, breathing. If a nerve root  will be compressed, the pain will take shingles. Most often it concerns only one side of the intercostal nerve movement. In the area of innervation of the nerve sensitivity will be impaired. There is numbness, feeling when crawling creeps, strengthening, burning, hypersensitivity. There are pains in the heart, which resemble angina.

To clarify the diagnosis, take pictures on the X-ray at once in two projections. The pictures show a decrease in the height of the intervertebral discs along with the bone growths of the vertebral bodies. Such changes are quite common in people with pain in the thoracic vertebral region.

Herniated intervertebral spaces of the thoracic region often affect the lower four thoracic discs. With such a diagnosis, squeezing of the spinal cord appears much more often.

Injury of the thoracic vertebral department. Elderly patients often complain of pain in the lower thoracic vertebral region. This indicates osteoporosis in the spine with compression fractures of the vertebral bodies.

The symptoms of osteochondrosis in the thoracic spine will be extremely diverse. However, no feature will be strictly specific. Typically, the definition of symptoms comes from the localization of the disease process, severity. Soreness will increase after a long stay in one position, strong physical exertion. Patients are forced to change poses even at night. Characteristic will be

aching, burning, blunt pain  in the region of the heart, shoulder blade, interscapular space. Complaints of patients indicate a feeling of “iron mites”, which even squeeze their backs even at night. It will be painful tapping on the vertebral processes. The pain gives to the internal organs.

In a young, youthful age, tenderness in the region of the heart is often caused scheuermann Mau disease. It is manifested by sharp increases in the kyphosis of the thoracic region, together with wedge-shaped deformation in the bodies of the lower thoracic vertebrae.

It is also important to exclude possible injuries in the thoracic spine, sternum, ribs, other diseases that may be accompanied by acute or chronic pain  in the region of the heart.

Symptoms:

  • muscle soreness, which is associated with possible lesions in the thoracic spine. They can be specific, special, such as pain in the intercostal muscles, in the area of the muscles of the press with prolonged sneezing, coughing;
  • chronic pain in the heart, accompanied by general weakness, shortness of breath, headaches;
  • ligament, joint pain in the thoracic spine, radiating to the heart. In addition to the ligaments with the joints, the place of attachment of the ribs to the spine, the transitions into the chest of the ribs to the places of their merging with several lower ribs are of great importance;
  • skeletal problems indicating different deformities of the scoliotic nature. They affect the ribs, the spine. Next are post-traumatic changes in these structures;
  • manifestations of osteoporosis are of importance in old age.

Accompanying symptoms of heart pain:

  • soreness in the intercostal space;
  • pain when breathing in and deep breaths;
  • difficulty tilting the hull;
  • pain when raising the left / right hand.

Pain significantly aggravated by inspiration. May be present numbness in handsin the interscapular region. Often intercostal neuralgia appears, extending into the scapula.

If there is a pronounced pain in the heart, then there are several diagnostic procedures. They allow you to clearly and correctly identify the cause of the symptoms:

  • Radiography - the method itself will not be able to identify pathology in intervertebral discs, but it is possible to determine the cause, which predisposes to the appearance of pain, for example, injuries or other changes in the vertebrae.
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a powerful enough way to diagnose. It is ideally suited for diagnosing a disease such as a herniated disc. This is an excellent, painless, accurate diagnostic method that allows you to see layer-by-layer the state of the vertebral tissues, intervertebral discs.

Some situations involve the use of other diagnostic methods, such as:

  • Computed tomography (CT) - this method involves the same principle of diagnosis as in MRI, in other words, there is a layer-by-layer visualization of the spinal tissues. However, CT scan produces a layered image using X-rays.
  • Myelography  - X-ray invasive diagnostic method. In the epidural space, which is located in the spinal canal, a special radiopaque substance is injected. As a result, it is possible to visualize the vertebral epidural space, see the hernia, the vertebral disc, the entire area in the spinal cord, the nerve root, which can compress the hernia.

In a situation where MRI cannot be used, they can resort to CT scan with myelography.

If a person has colitis in the region of the heart while inhaling, then this pathology is able to completely demoralize the patient. Often this phenomenon is accompanied by fear or even panic. The pain in the region of the heart during inhalation creates sensations in which the patient feels that something inside may burst. When you change the position of the body or when you exhale, the pain can increase.

There are several reasons why heart breathes in when inhaling. This may be, for example, precordial syndrome, neuralgia or thoracoalgia, of which there are about twenty varieties. Herpetic neuralgia is quite common with reduced immunity.

Consider the most common reasons for a heart to inhale when breathing in:

1. Intercostal neuralgia - This is a pain in the nervous tissue, in which the tissue has not undergone any changes. It occurs more often in women, although there is this pathology in men. Neuralgia pain most often appears on the left side of the sternum. When coughing or breathing deeply, the pain resembles sharp tingling in the heart, which is aggravated during inhalation. Neuralgia occurs in people who are prone to frequent stress and depression. The danger of this disease is that muscle atrophy and paralysis may occur as a complication. That is why it is very important to make a diagnosis in time and start treatment.

2. Prechordial syndrome  arises in the form of acute acute chest pain. With deep breathing, the pain increases significantly. Pain in the heart when inhaling occurs at rest and lasts from half a minute to 3 minutes. Sensations disappear unexpectedly, as appeared. There may be residual effects in the form of dull pain. Prechordial syndrome does not cause concerns among doctors, since does not bear health hazards. Mostly occurs in children and adolescents.

3. Pneumothorax  - it is the air between the chest wall and the lung in the form of an air cushion, which is located directly next to the lung. This air gap is formed as a result of a rupture in the lung or in pulmonary disease (tuberculosis, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, lung injury, lung cancer, etc.). In most cases, this pathology occurs in healthy people, but may be a complication of some lung diseases. When holding the breath, the symptoms become less pronounced. Particularly severe cases of pneumothorax and require surgical intervention.

In addition to these most common causes of pain in the sternum, there are other causes of pain. But it is impossible to determine them yourself.

Diagnosis and treatment

What to do if the heart began to hurt while inhaling? To relieve momentary pain, you must take a deep breath, change the position of the body. This will help to remove pain sensations. If the heart is colitis quite often or there are suspicions that there is a disease, then you should consult a specialist. Only the doctor after the examination will be able to answer the question why the patient is concerned about chest pain. After the diagnosis, if necessary, the doctor will prescribe the appropriate treatment.

It is necessary to pay attention to all pain sensations, no matter where they arise, especially the pain in the heart during exhalation and inhalation, because this symptom can be a precursor of many diseases. Pain in the heart during coughing or breathing is most often localized in the region of the heart, pleura or mediastinum, although respiratory movements that have nothing to do with heart disease also affect their appearance. Such pains are more often localized in the right or left side and can be worn sharp or dull character.

Causes of heart pain when breathing

Pulmonary diseases

  • Pain when breathing in the heart may result from inflammation of the lining of the chest cavity and the membrane surrounding the lungs. The cause of dry pleurisy can be various diseases, the most common of which is pneumonia. With dry pleurisy, pain subsides when lying on the affected side. In this half of the chest, the restriction of respiratory movements becomes noticeable. Even with a constant percussion sound, weakened breathing can be heard due to the fact that the patient involuntarily spares the affected side. Most often the body temperature is low-grade, weakness, night sweats and chills are possible.
  • In case of shortening of the interpleural ligament, there is a constant cough, aggravated by physical exertion, conversation, deep breaths. When running and inhaling, stitching pains may occur. This bundle is formed from the merger parietal sheets  pleura with visceral in the root of the lung. Going down the medial edge of the lungs, this bundle forks in the legs of the diaphragm and its tendinous part. It provides springy resistance at the moment of caudal displacement of the diaphragm. When inflammatory process  interpleural ligaments are shortened, limiting the amplitude of the caudal displacements.

Heart disease

With dry pericarditis, heart pain increases with movement and inhalation, as a result, breathing becomes less deep, and shortness of breath is still aggravated. The intensity of such pain can vary from minor to rather harsh.

Violations of bone and cartilage tissues

  • The pain in the heart during exhalation and inhalation, restriction of the mobility of the chest, shallow breathing can occur if the thoracic spine or the rib cage have functional impairments that also cause pericarditis and pleurisy.
  • Squeezing or hitting rib cage  can lead to a broken rib. In this case, the person also experiences breathing and coughing. sharp pain  in heart.

Other diseases

  • In the case of renal colic, the pain is concentrated under the spoon and in the right hypochondrium, and later spreads to the entire abdomen. The pain is given in the right shoulder or under the scapula, aggravated by inhalation or pressure in the gallbladder. When pressing in the range of the 10th-12th vertebrae to the right by the width of 2-3 fingers from the spinous isles, local pain is felt.
  • With neurosis, cardiac pain is observed, accompanied by parasthesia and other unpleasant sensations  in the hands and other parts of the body.
  • Intercostal neuralgia characterized by shooting sharp painswhich occur abruptly while inhaling, causing it to be delayed.
