Reasons for choosing when planting a plot of birch

Forest beauty is especially preferable when creating designs on small areas, because the white trunk of a birch is simply created in order to visually expand the boundaries of the greened area. Moreover, thanks to the openwork crown of this plant, the site takes on a festive look.

Excellent external data makes the white-haired beauties undoubted favorites among the many tree species used for gardening gardens. Here are just some of them:

  • Sliding shadow from a high raised crown, creating additional coolness on hot days and not interfering with the growth of other plants. In addition, birch, planting and caring for which do not present much difficulty, as if created so that numerous shade-loving and not fond of excessive moisture crops grow next to it.
  • The branches, going down to the ground itself, can fulfill the role of a natural arbor, which attracts to hide from the heat in the hot afternoon. Rest in it will bring true pleasure.
  • The gold of the autumn foliage of this tree will give the plot a magical, fabulous look.

All this makes birch plantations desirable on many plots, the owners of which strive to create a magical, fascinating look with the uniqueness of their homestead territories.

Useful properties of the plant

And the most valuable one, which gives a huge benefit, is unique in its taste qualities and is loved not only by children, but also by most adults. Every spring, during sap flow, you can enjoy this gift of nature.

Subtleties of using birches in landscape design

The appearance of the site is always the pride of the owner. Therefore, in order to make it unique, various subtleties are used to create a unique design. Here and the patio, and all kinds of Yes, you never know what other nuances can use an amateur gardener to his site favorably differed among many others!

One of these tricks and is the choice of birch for landscaping. Its use in creating the landscape is very diverse and depends only on the imagination of the owner of the site. The trunk of a birch is slender and snow-white, so these trees will look great in the form of small alleys, planted along and through groves in a certain area of the territory or, if the area allows, a dense array.

Variety of plant species

What is the best birch tree from all its variety? No wonder such a question worries many amateur gardeners seeking to create a unique design on their plots. After all, a variety of species in this plant is simply amazing. In the middle zone, birch is represented by several dozen subspecies.

The best of them for growing in garden plots are such species as Dahurian birch, cherry, fluffy and warty birch. Each species has its own charms and certain nuances that are taken into account when planting and caring for this plant. Therefore, planting a birch in the spring should begin with the selection of a suitable species.

How to create such beauty? Subtleties of planting and care

So that green plantings, among which this white-stemmed tree is used, bring joy and not cause any special problems, it is necessary to take into account some nuances. Most gardeners for planting trees prefer the autumn period. But planting a birch in the spring is more cost-effective. At this time of year, the death of seedlings is minimal.

Care for birch, used for landscaping, is minimal. Here are some simple requirements that should be followed in order for the plant to bring only joy:

  •   birch lies in the surface layer of the soil rather shallow, so additional watering is required in drought.
  • In early spring, when the foliage has not yet appeared and the birch has begun to bloom, it is possible to feed the plant, for which for the most part mullein is used.
  • Pruning the plant is not required, which significantly saves gardener's time. Only in spring should dry branches be cut.

Therefore, for any owner of a personal plot, a plant such as birch, planting and caring for which is completely trouble-free, becomes an ideal option in gardening the area. Do not worry about the fact that the plant can die from adverse weather conditions, because it not only has good frost resistance, but also quite drought-resistant.

What should beware of when choosing this plant for landscaping?

But, like all other plants, this tree has a negative side, which should be taken into account. This is a flowering birch. It begins in early spring, before the time when the leaves bloom, and can bring trouble to people who are allergic.

This is the only negative point when choosing whitelisting beauties for landscaping the territory. In addition, it can be avoided by using anti-allergy medicines. Therefore, do not deny yourself the desire to have this miracle tree on your plot!

1. Familiarize children with a tree: title, short and emotional description with the help of L. Kavalyak's verses

Outside the window birches

In holiday dress,

The breeze sways

Sunny strands.

Leaves fall off

Birch is very high, much higher than children. To look at its top, you need to raise your head. Below, near the ground at birch trunk. He alone, solid, covered with white bark with black spots. The barrel can be stroked, hugged, lean your cheek. Around the trunk, you can drive a round dance.

3. Have birch trees   many branches and leaves.

At the top of the trunk birches many branches. They are long, thin, black. Some branches hang and look like braids. On the branches there are many, many leaves. Under the branches near the trunk, you can stand up, hide from the rain, the sun - they are like a roof over your head.

4. What are birch leaves?

Have birch leaves. They are all on the branches, high above the ground. Yellowed leaves fall to the ground and lie under a tree. (Suggest children to raise leaves birch trees and consider them). The leaves are small - less than the palm. Each leaf has a stick (petiole). At one end they are round wide, at the other they are narrow, ending in a sharp "Spout". Leaf Edge birch teeth.

5. What happens to birch in winter.

Winter. Birch cold. Therefore, you need to cover the trunk near the ground with snow. Our birch is sleeping, waiting for the onset of spring, warmth, to wake up and please us again with its beautiful outfit - green rustling foliage.

6. What happens to birch in spring.

With the onset of spring our birch   wakes up from a long winter sleep. When the sun begins to warm on the trunk and branches birch trees   sweet begins to flow birch juice. Birds love him, and he also benefits people. In juice there are a lot of vitamins useful for health.

Spring y birches appear earrings, and then from the swollen buds appear green leaves, which will delight us with its beauty and rustle.

7. Birch - a beautiful tree. She has white bark - this is not the case with other trees. She has beautiful openwork branches with leaves. About her they say: "Curly birch tree»   it is nice to look at her when she is calm (no wind)   and when she rustles and sways under the wind. It is interesting to look at the sky, the sun through the leaves and branches.

Birch - live: branches, trunk, green leaves - all living things. She needs water - rain pours, she drinks this water. Without water birch dries up. Birch should be protected: do not knock on the trunk, do not scratch the bark, do not break branches. How nice in the summer to rest near our birch trees.

Russian beauty: pictures and poems about birches

Russian birch

Sergey Andropov

I love the beauty of Russian weeping birches,
The charming smell of their buds and spring leaves,
Brilliant tears on the branches from the morning dew,
And gold crowns in the suburban autumn landscapes.

My ancestor is distant, once the paper did not know
And birch relatives helped him in his life.
On their birch bark, he wrote our history
The message of ancient Russia for Great Russia.

As grandfather told me, and these are not just words
In the birches of the family was all Russian power,
Their life was decorated with birch bodies,
And birch fed the birch porridge * in hunger.

A snow-white birch trunk has been broken through,
And near my father was wounded in the battles near Moscow,
And if he had found death at this birch tree,
That would not be us in this world with my sister.

But birch sap was dripping on the fighter's wound,
And the soldier’s helmet is like a widow’s tears at the grave.
The nurse of the medical battalion found at her father's birch,
And birch sap quenched his thirst.

And I will not forget how the wind ruffled my curls,
When I met my beloved birch grove,
We drank birch sap, I hugged her,
And we sang a great song to us a gentle breeze.

I bow to the Russian birch, to the very roots,
In verses I will sing its wonderful forest groves,
I will remember her, and at once sadness will dissipate,
In foreign cities far from the beloved Russia.

Arkhip Kuindzhi Birchwood, 1879

Like a misty distance of the fields for half an hour
Passed a sudden rain oblique stripes -
And again the sky is deep blue
   Over the fresh forests.

Warm and moist shine. Smell of rye honey
In the sun velvet wheat is cast,
And in the green branches, in birch near the border.
   Blithely Orioles Talk

And cheerful forest sonorous, and the wind between birches
It blows gently, and white birch
Dropping the silent rain of their diamond tears
   And smiling through tears.

   Arkhip Kuindzhi, Birch Grove, 1901

Sad birch
   At my window.
   And a whim of frost
   She picked up.

Like a bunch of grapes,
   The branches ends hang, -
   And glad to look
   All mourning outfit.

I love the game of the day
   I notice on her,
And I'm sorry if the birds
Shaken the beauty of the branches.

A. Fet. 1842.

Under the diminished sun
   Autumn, later sometimes,
   Their every leaf glitters chervonets

"I do not think of Russia without a birch ..."

I cannot imagine Russia without birch, -
   So she is Slavonic,
What, perhaps, in centuries of other
From birch - all Russia is born.

They sang under birch trees and got married.
   We chose horses at the auction;
   Dear mothers were buried
So that there were birches in the legs.

Therefore, to know birch in the spring
   Human life live:
   That laugh green foliage,
   That tears shed tears.

I love it when the birch is noisy
When the leaves fall from the birch trees.
I listen - and tears run
On the eyes, weaned from tears.

All wakes up in memory involuntarily
Will respond to the heart and in the blood.
   Will somehow joyfully and painfully
   Like someone whispering about love.

Only more often prose wins,
Like the wind blows gloomy days.
After all, the same birch makes noise
   Over my mother's grave.

In the war my father was killed by a bullet
And in our village near the fence
With the wind and the rain rustled like a beehive,
Here is the same yellow leaf fall ...

My Russia, I love your birches!
From the first years I lived and grew up with them.
   That's why the tracks
On the eyes, weaned from tears ...

I love Russian birch,
   That light, then sad,
   In a white sundress,
   With handkerchiefs in pockets,
   With beautiful buckles,
   With green earrings.
   I love her, most,
   With smart shoulders,
   That clear, vigorous,
   That sad, weeping.
   I love Russian birch,
She is always with her friends
   Spring dance,
   Kissing, as usual
It goes where it is not bordered,
   Sings where not allowed
Under the wind down the slope
And bends, and does not break!

Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin. Summer landscape with birch.

Vsevolod Christmas

A little sun has warmed the slopes
And it became warmer in the forest,
   Birch green braids
   Spread from thin branches.

All dressed in a white dress,
   In earrings, in lacy foliage,
   Meets hot summer
She is on the edge of the forest.

Does the storm sweep over her,
Will cling to the marsh mist, -
   Rain shaking off, smile
   Birch - and again fun.

Her lightweight outfit is wonderful
There is no tree for the heart
And a lot of thoughtful songs
It is sung by the people about her.

He shares joy and tears with her,
And so her days are good
What seems - in the noise of birch
There is something from the Russian soul.

   Birch juice

As soon as the snowdrop blooms on time,
As soon as the first thunderstorms approach,
On the white trunks appears juice -
Birchs are crying, birches are crying.

How often, getting drunk from a bright day,
I wandered at random along the spring channels,
And the motherland generously watered me

Sacred memory storing about everything
We remember the hills and country roads native,
We have a difficult service today
Far from Russia, far from Russia.

Where are these fogs of the native side
And the branches of birch trees that bend over the creek?
Here you and I absolutely must
Once to return, once to return.

Open to us, Fatherland, your open spaces,
   Cherished thickets inadvertently open
And just like in childhood, I get drunk
   Birch sap, birch sap.

Where does homeland begin?
From the cherished bench at the gate,

The snow-white symbol of Russia ...

The snow-white symbol of Russia
Along the roads are rows of birch trees,
Happy over them - the dome of the sky is blue,
At night - the fluttering of bright stars.

Light birch shadows
From childhood on my fate lay,
How does the light leaf fall
On the palm of a warm land.

And when in a foreign cold sea
   Surge of the homeland sadness
I see chamomile in the open field

At this moment I want to involuntarily

1 option

My favorite tree is birch. This tree is a symbol of Russia. Probably, in all poems, books and songs the birch tree is compared with a young girl. I think that such a comparison is successful. I also think that the thin and white birch tree is like a girl. It is as flexible, as clean and luminous. Well, mature and old birch trees look like adult women. They are as strong, powerful as they are beautiful.

Spring birch wakes up from a winter sleep one of the first among other trees. It is resistant to frost, so, most likely, the spring frosts, frequent in our country, did not damage it in any way. Its leaves have not yet blossomed, and the nutrients, various types of sugars accumulated over the past summer, are already beginning to move under its bark. They tend to rise to the blooming leaves to feed them.

This “nourishing” nutrient mass is called birch sap. Foresters who work in Russian forests and groves, in March, already hurry to gather birch sap. And the month of April is also a good time to collect this valuable product.

Birch sap is of great value: it has healing properties, cures diseases. Both adults and children drink it with joy. But it is necessary to collect birch sap very carefully, carefully, so as not to destroy the tree. Although birch grows very quickly, it can be drained by improper methods of sap collection.

But it is so important to preserve the beauty, the nurse and the birch. After all, she is still going to bloom, put on her famous green "earrings" and flaunt again until next spring. So the birch must be treated so that after collecting the spring juice, she met many more, many springs in a row.

Option 2

As soon as the snow melted in spring, one of the most beloved trees by our people is already awakening to life. It adorns the streets of cities and parks, as well as forests and fields. It grows almost everywhere. This is birch.

Spring has not yet come to the world, and under the white birch bark juices are already rapidly running. A beautiful tree after winter sleep is preparing for a new pore of the year.

First, bright green birch buds swell. They then unfold into sticky, fragrant leaves. I adore their smell after the smell of winter and dampness - after all, it is a real fragrance of spring and life! At first, these leaves are small and look like hearts. Little by little they become larger and put a white tree in clothes of fresh greenery. Then the birch decorates itself also with odorous light green earrings.

There are birch with gray bark, even with black. Science says that there are about one hundred and forty species of this tree in the world. But the most beautiful is white birch. In the spring, she resembles a thin young girl. Flexible birch as if dressed up in a dazzling white outfit, sometimes with black stripes. And on top is also a bright green cloak thrown over. In addition to the elegant costume, this beauty also puts on earrings.

Spring birches give us, in addition to enjoying their beauty, another valuable thing. This is birch sap, which is very useful to drink, especially for children. Forestry can collect this healing drink carefully, so as not to harm the tree. But there are “gatherers” who do it cruelly, leaving cuts in the tree, like open wounds from which sap flows in vain. You can not do this, birches must be protected. And then every spring beauties in earrings will delight us with their slender figures, fresh aromas and, if necessary, a nutritious drink.

Birch is considered to be a tree, symbolizing the native Russian nature. That is why there are so many songs and poems in Russian culture devoted to this tree. On the birch tree, we read a lot in folk tales. Artists love to depict birch in their landscapes. They always look very poetic - both in winter and in summer. Birch groves   always bright, very beautiful.

I have my favorite birch. It grows in the park, not far from our house. When I go from work, I pass by this birch tree and often stop to admire it. It has a white bark, it is very delicate in appearance, and in some places it is pinkish. When we talk about the seasons, I always think about my tree, my favorite birch tree. It shows very clearly how one time of year replaces another. In summer, all green birch, as in the song, in which it is sung that the birch stands in a green sundress. In autumn, its almost round yellow leaves resemble coins, which crumble very quickly. In winter, birch is the most beautiful of all trees - it stands white against a white background, almost merging with snow, only black stripes on the bark stand out. But my birch looks best in the spring.

As soon as she starts to get warm, I walk up to the birch and check if her tiny buds have started to swell on thin flexible branches that are falling down. For me, this is the most important sign: as soon as the buds have slightly increased, it means that spring has begun. And then I start to wait for the first leaves, they are so thin, bright, at first quite small. At the same time, the birch throws out and earrings, which look very touching, tremble in the wind. The foliage is still such that it does not obscure the earrings, they look like a real decoration. But the leaves grow rapidly. These days, I go to my birch tree every day, watch it grow greener and thicker and grow its foliage.

In the spring, birch sap is extracted from birch trees. This must be done before the tree has released leaves. An incision is made in the bark, from which sweet clear juice flows out. You need to do this, knowing how, otherwise you can destroy the tree. I didn’t see such things, only in books to read. Nobody did this on my birch. This is very good, otherwise I would be very sorry for her. It would seem to me that it is very painful. And I want my birch to be happy with the spring with me, so that it turns green and rustles its leaves in the wind and uplifting everyone who admires it

By the way, the taste of birch sap is not the same for all birches. The sweeter sap is given by trees growing in sunny, elevated places.

Amur birches in different seasons

Words and photos are too insignificant to describe the joy of what he saw. Take pleasure in yourself, look at this magnificent natural phenomenon, come to the river during the ice drift.

   Russian birch in the garden

One has only to utter the word “birch” as it becomes warm in the chest, a variety of different images, texts of poems, lines of songs associated with Her — a white-haired Russian beauty arise. Birch is a true symbol of Russia. Her graceful camp, frailty and affection are praised by both folklore and the powerful word of famous poets.

It affects her unpretentious and enduring "character" like a real Russian woman. Decorating her garden is a pleasure! She will certainly bring harmony and beauty without demanding great care in return. Remember how easily a birch grows habitable in vacant lots, felled firs, sometimes it can be found in unexpected places, for example, on walls or roofs of houses or in a hollow of a large tree. Needless to say, its juice is useful and wood is valuable.

In the garden, birch will never be superfluous. Especially when they did not have time to prepare the soil for cultivated plants and the house is being built. Birch will wonderfully ennoble and decorate this not the most colorful period in the life of the garden. In our latitudes, this miracle tree can please with two species - this is the so-called fluffy birch and hanging birch. Both of these species look great at any time of the year. Yellow earrings and light green leaves are her traditional spring outfit. In the summer, it will delight with the picturesque form of a piercing crown with fine glossy foliage; in the fall, she will dress in a golden yellow appearance. Winter silence is combined with spectacular bark and lace graphics of thin branches.

In the old Slavic beliefs, the attitude toward birch was ambivalent: according to one tradition, wood and its products, including those from birchwood, were considered a talisman against evil forces; In particular, the birch brooms used in the bath were also considered as tools of ritual purification, and on the eve of Ivan Kupala, birch branches were stuck above the door so that evil forces would not penetrate the house.

According to other traditions, birch was considered an unclean tree, in the branches of which devils and mermaids settle, and which is the embodiment of the souls of deceased relatives; Birch was also considered to be a tree, from which evil forces make their tools - for example, witches, according to superstitions, fly on birch brooms. White birch - the embodiment of heavenly radiance and light - was represented in Slavic mythology the cult of Beregini, the great goddess, who, along with Rod, created all things.

Over time, birch has become particularly revered in the "Rusal" - festivals in honor of the beregin (mermaids). On the old Russian women's ritual holiday - Seven, which was celebrated on the eighth week after the beginning of Easter, in June, on Thursday, the girls went to the forest to "curl a birch". Having chosen the trees, the girls curled them - they tied the tops of two young birches, bending them to the ground. From the branches woven wreaths. At the same time they sang songs and went round the round with the ribbed birch ribbons, bringing her to the village. When curling the wreaths, the girls were kumils, or they were sistering: they put a cross on the branches connected in the form of a circle, the girls kissed each other through this wreath, exchanged some things (rings, scarves) and then called themselves godfather or sister. It is believed that Umai (Umaya), the Turkic goddess, personifying the earthly nature, descended to the earth with two birches.
