Proper facial care. How to choose the right makeup for face care

Human skin is responsible not only for heat transfer and protection of the body from external influences, but also for the formation of an attractive appearance. Healthy, flawless skin is our best decoration. Making it so helps the right lifestyle, which implies, among other things, good nutrition and avoiding bad habits. An important place in this process is the use of cosmetic products, as well as their correct selection. It is worth remembering that skin care is, above all, a system!

Depending on the moisture content and the presence of a natural fatty lubricant, there are several basic skin types: normal, dry, oily, combination (mixed) and fading. In most cases, the skin type appears during puberty of a person and does not change with age.

It is very important to choose cosmetics that match your skin type, since the use of cosmetics that are not recommended for your skin type can lead to disruption of its functioning and deterioration of appearance. About what are the features of existing skin types, how to determine the type of skin in the home and what are recommended for certain types, we will discuss in this article.

Features of existing skin types

Normal skindifferent balanced fat and moisture content. This skin is elastic, smooth and clean, it has almost no visible pores, it is devoid of wrinkles, dilated blood vessels and other shortcomings. Its pH level is 5.5. Note that the normal skin type is relatively rare; he, as a rule, is peculiar to young people.

Dry skin It is characterized by a dull (matte) shade and small pore size. Fat content is reduced. Such skin is thin and sensitive, wrinkles quickly appear on it, which are the result of its low elasticity. Dry skin type is subject to frequent irritations, it is often found in people living in dry climates. The pH of such skin varies from 3 to 5.5.

The main functional feature oily skin   is the increased secretion of the sebaceous glands. The characteristic external features of oily skin type are its luster and the presence of well distinguishable, rather large pores. Such skin, the pH of which can reach 6, is not prone to the formation of wrinkles - an excess of sebum protects it from drying and loss of elasticity.

Often found combination skinwhen it looks healthy in general, but still has large pores and shines in the so-called T-zone (on the forehead, nose and chin). On the temples, cheeks and around the eyes, the skin is usually dry. The pH level for different areas of mixed skin type varies from 3 to 6.

Fading skin  characterized by a partial absence of fatty mantle, which is associated with atrophy of the sebaceous and sweat glands. The upper layer of skin (epidermis) is thinned, blood vessels begin to shine through it. Often on the skin appears age pigmentation. The deterioration of lymphatic drainage with age causes swelling of the skin, which sags and forms folds.

Special mention deserves sensitive skin typewhich may include skin of any of the types listed above. Sensitive skin  Acutely reacts to the effects of external and internal factors: when using cosmetics, temperature drops, stresses experienced, red spots, acne, and other imperfections may appear on it.

How to determine the type of skin?

To determine the skin types, take a glass and with a slight pressure “roll” it on the forehead, and then examine the prints remaining on the glass. If they are well distinguishable, without forming a greasy film - you have a normal skin type. With dry skin, almost no trace remains. To determine the oily skin type or combination, it is worth “rolling” a glass not only on the forehead, but also on the cheeks. If a noticeable oily film remains on the walls of the glass from both sites - you have oily skin, if the trace from the cheek is almost imperceptible, and there is a oily film from your forehead - your skin belongs to the combined type.

Happy owners normal skin they are often mistaken in the belief that cosmetic care for their face is not mandatory for them. This is not so, because the skin of a normal type, like any other, is exposed to adverse effects. The modern arsenal of such skin care products is extremely diverse: it includes all kinds of creams, lotions and much more. It is necessary to provide normal skin with a number of beneficial substances using nourishing creams  with aloe, extracts from plants and algae. After 25 years, it is recommended to select face care products that stimulate collagen production.

Among the many cosmetics D `oliva recommended for normal skin, it can be noted that promotes the regeneration of skin cells, helps to retain moisture in them, tones and refreshes the skin.

Dry skin  requires very careful care: in the absence or lack of it, a feeling of tightness arises, irritations, spots and early wrinkles may appear. When choosing products for dry skin, pay attention to cosmetics that provide cleansing without water, moisturizing creams, tonics that do not contain alcohol, cosmetics that stimulate the production of elastin and collagen.

Excellent dry skin care will be provided with the use of D "Oliva moisturizer: this product maintains the water balance of the skin, nourishes and rejuvenates it. Shea butter and urea contained in this cream deeply moisturize the skin and promote the regeneration of its cells. Well moistened skin remains young and radiant longer!

If you have oily skin, pick up such cosmetics that will not clog pores. Recommended for use in oily skin products that do not provoke sebaceous glands and effectively remove excess fat. The ideal option would be a tool that at the same time will eliminate the shine and retain moisture in the skin.

Owners of oily skin will certainly appreciate Diva Oliva, containing jojoba oil. It will provide a delicate removal of excess sebum and make-up, while at the same time restoring the normal acid-base balance of the skin.

Means for combination skin have their own specifics. They are able to simultaneously moisturize dry and dry fat areas. Owners of such skin can be recommended to use different means for different parts of the face, twice a day to cleanse the skin with soap-free means, to use astringent tonics for fatty areas. Special masks suitable for combination skin that should be applied to the face once a week will be useful.

Courting fading skin, use high-quality anti-aging cosmetics. Such agents have a powerful regenerating effect, provide a skin-fading complex of nutrients, and effectively moisturize it.

Well, finally, the evening of the long-awaited day off and while our men finish with cleaning the sauna, the girls sort out their cosmetic bags. Each of us shares his discoveries and acquisitions, commenting in detail on his entire experience in the use of one or another tool, in turn, we turn through the Oriflame catalog. And while everyone is actively involved in the conversation and sifting through a great variety of cosmetics, I tried to take a few notes and combine all our knowledge and sort through the points how to choose the right makeup for the face. And that's what I did.

First, remember what stages exist for proper care  for the skin.

1. Purification - this stage should not be skipped. The skin of the face must be cleaned in the morning and evening, if necessary in the afternoon, before applying other products. Once a week it is recommended to conduct a deeper cleansing of the skin - scrubbing or gommage, depending on your skin type. Suitable for daily cleansing - facial wash, make-up remover, facial soap or baby soap.

2. Toning is optional, but desirable. It prepares your skin for basic care. It is carried out with the help of tonics, lotions, home decoctions.

3. Moisturizing or nourishing - fixing point of care. Depending on skin type and age, skin needs to be moisturized or nourished. Moistening is more suitable for young age, and even more mature it is more rational to use nutrients.

Now we need to determine the type of skin so that the cosmetics for care will act on all its power. This is very easy to do: clean your face and then apply no means. After a few hours, apply a paper napkin to your face and look at it properly.

If the napkin remains dry - you have dry skin, if the spots are evenly distributed on the napkin - oily skin, if the spots are only in the T-zone, therefore, you have a combination skin. And if there are no stains on the napkin, but the skin, unlike the first example, does not tighten - you have normal skin type, but this is rare - only 20% of the population have normal skin type.

Focusing on your skin type, we choose cosmetics made for this type. The only thing that when choosing cosmetics for oily skin is to carefully study the means, because if they have a strong drying effect, your skin may become even more oily.

But not all cosmetics are equally useful. In order not to purchase cosmetics with harmful products  - learn to read the composition. The main rule: the component that ranks first in the list of ingredients is contained in the largest quantity in this tool, and then descending. The content of the component that stands at the very last place in the composition of the product can be 0.01% of the entire contents!

For example, if water is in the first place in your moisturizer, and mineral oil in the second place, you should think very carefully before applying it to your face. Mineral oil is a refined product, of course, well refined. It is used in the composition of many brands, even very famous. But its properties can only be useful for very dry skin, as when applied to the face mineral oil creates a thin film, allowing you to retain moisture.

The skin becomes accustomed to the fact that it does not need to work on its own, the oil does everything for it, and it simply cannot do without it. Mineral oil can be masked in the composition under paraffin wax, paraffin oil, petrolatum, propylene glycol. This is the most common ambiguous component that is part of cosmetics.

Take a note of a few more ingredients that should be treated with caution when seeing them in the composition:

  • 1,2-Dioxane (1,2-Dioxane) is a strong carcinogen that favors the cancer of the nasal septum.
  • Components with the end of DEA, MEA, TEA - cause irritation on the skin, carcinogenic.
  • Dioxin (Dioxin) - a strong synthetic poison that can penetrate into the cells and infect them.
  • Paraben (Parabene) - destroys skin cells, accumulates in the body, provokes cancer cells.
  • Glycerin (Glycerine) - when the humidity of the air is less than 70%, it completely pulls moisture out of the skin, which leads to its dehydration.
  • Isopropyl alcohol (Isopropyl Alcohol) - promotes the penetration of bacteria into the skin.
  • Peg (PEG) - derivatives of petroleum products, contribute to the activation of cancer cells.
  • Silicone (Silicone) - forms a non-breathing film on the face, leading to clogged pores.
  • Benzocaine (Benzocaine) - causes damage to the nervous system.
  • Propylene glycol (Propilene Glikol) - causes strong allergic reactions, contributes to the formation of acne.

Now, knowing what tools you need, your skin type and armed with a list of harmful ingredients, you can safely go for useful cosmetics for the face.
