Frame

This system is approved for installation in a 5.25-inch hard drive PC case (Fig. 3) and can cool a 3.5-inch hard drive. System board

The right choice of system board can be of great importance for the creation of a silent PC. Like a ventilator bridge of the chipset, it is necessary to replace it with a radiator with high fins (Fig. 4).

Of the motherboards, which have proven themselves well, which can be used for monitoring purposes, we can name ASUS, Intel and Fujitsu-Siemens boards. On the boards of these companies, there is a fan on the chipset bridge, which will never be forgotten.

Fujitsu-Siemens pays special respect, as it is orientated itself towards the creation of noiseless PCs.

Living block

Lok eating is often a non-selective reason for blaming noise. The ZM80C-HP can be played on video cards, but you can open the fasteners near the chipset. The cooling system has two massive aluminum radiators, which are placed on the sides of the video card and covered with a copper heat pipe.

CPU cooling system

An 80-millimeter fan is installed above the radiator with an adjustable swirl wrap. The minimum speed of wrapping is 1700 rpm, and the maximum is 3100 rpm. With a minimum wind speed, the noise level becomes less than 20 dB (the sensitivity threshold of human hearing is three times greater), and for the maximum speed - it becomes 34 dB.

To control the speed of the fan wrap, a special regulator is used, which is connected to the lance between the fan and the socket with the method of connecting the processor fan to the motherboard.

I complete the cooling system of the processor with a special plastic casing, which serves as the function of the wind pipe. The fan is designed to blow hot air out of the processor, and again through the shroud out of the case.

The processor cooler CNPS7000-Cu (Fig. 11) has a radiator with fins, which diverge radially, also with midi, and the total area of ​​all radiator fins is 3170 cm2, and the weight is 773 g. Minimum wrapping speed - 1350 rpm, maximum - 2400 rpm. To adjust the speed of the wrapping, the FAN MATE 1 regulator (Fig. 12), which is included before delivery. With the minimum speed, the noise wrapping should be less than 20 dB, and for the maximum - 25 dB.

Choose a PC

So, after a short digression into theory, let's move on to the right thing, let's get down to choosing our noiseless PC. Nasampered is significant with the configuration. In front of the rack with hard disks, there is a space for installing a 120-mm fan, and on the front panel of the case there are special shutters, so you can close or turn it off, and also install it manually, which allows for ventilation self-regulation. On the board, there is a sufficient number of roses for connecting fans (for the processor fan and the pivnichny bridge and three roses for additional fans). The BIOS of the ABIT IC7-G motherboard allows you not only to monitor the temperature and speed of the fan wrap, but also to configure the processor fan operation mode. Although the different ZALMAN CNPS7000-Cu cooler has such a BIOS capability, it is clearly a challenge.

From the ABIT website for the ABIT IC7-G board, you can also configure the monitoring utility, which will show the current temperature and the speed of the wrapping of all fans in the system, and also allow you to adjust the speed of their wrapping. Vtіm, as if showing the proof of work with this utility, it is absolutely marred and really does not regulate the speed of the fan wrapping, and the temperatures that seem to be, obviously do not show the efficiency. Therefore, such a monitoring utility can hardly be seen as a help for the creation of a silent PC. Moreover, the board was slightly modified: a heatsink with a built-in fan, a chipset installed on the pivnichny bridge, noise reduction, and a standard heatsink was installed on the other side.

The cooling system of our PC included the following components:

• speed control fan wrap ZALMAN FAN MATE 2 (for fan control of the CPU cooler);
• cooler for ZALMAN CNPS7000-Cu processor;
• cooler for ZALMAN ZM80C-HP video card in the kit with ZALMAN ZM-OP1 fan;
• two heat sinks ZM-2HC1 for hard drives.
