Green pages burdock. Burdock large (burdock) - treatment, properties. Infusion of burdock leaves
Other names are burdock, burdock. In total, there are 11 types of burdock: this is a large burdock, a felt burdock (cobweb), a small burdock, etc.

Burdock is a rather valuable medicinal plant that treats many intractable diseases, although it is popularly considered a symbol of obsession, because of its characteristic feature of clinging to clothes.

Burdock is hard to miss, it stands out from other plants with its large size and bright pink flowers. Leningrad artist Vladimir Saxon, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the revolution, presented a burdock as a symbol of revolution, depicting a canvas with burdocks, and said: "This is how I feel the revolution."

Burdock is not only a useful and medicinal plant, but, you might be surprised, an edible plant.
In Siberia and the Caucasus, burdock has long been considered a vegetable plant. And in Japan it is grown in the beds and it is called there - dovo. Young leaves and petioles are edible, at a tender age they are tasty.

Burdock root of the first year of life is also edible, it is thick and juicy and, after boiling or roasting, is edible. They baked bread from it, made a substitute for coffee, put it in soup.

Big burdock (burdock) is a perennial herb with a straight, hard, resilient, tomentose stem. In the first year, very large basal leaves are formed on long, straight, succulent petioles.
In the second year - a high (up to 3 m) straight stem with small red-violet inflorescence baskets located at the tops of the pedicels.

Blooms in June-August. It grows everywhere: in forests and bushes, near dwellings, along ditches, along wet wastelands, along the road ...

Burdock harvesting. For medicinal purposes, the roots, leaves and tops of the burdock are used. The roots are harvested in the fall of the first or spring of the second year (before the leaves appear). The best burdock roots in plants are 1 year old. Leaves and tops are harvested during the flowering period. The shelf life of the harvested plant is 2-3 years.

Dry under a canopy or in a slightly heated oven or oven. Burdock rhizome (burdock, burdock) contains essential and fatty oils, tannins, pectin, bitter substances, glycosides, alkaloids, resins, mucus, protein, starch, sugar, inulin, minerals, vitamins C, groups B, E, D, carotene and many other medicinal substances.

Medicinal and useful properties of burdock, application. Preparations from the roots of burdock have wound-healing, diuretic and diaphoretic properties. They are used for certain skin diseases, for inflammatory processes of the mucous membrane of the mouth, throat, upper respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract. The properties of large burdock and felt burdock are very similar and almost do not differ.

The use of burdock herb and its treatment has a beneficial effect on metabolic disorders, improves the function of the pancreas, gall bladder, liver, kidneys, promotes the dissolution and excretion of salts and stones, increases urine output, positively affects wound healing, acts as an anticarcinogenic and diaphoretic agent, promotes purification of blood and removal of all metabolic toxins.

Tincture (infusion) of burdock roots: 1 teaspoon (about 5 g) of chopped root is poured into 0.5 l. boiling water, insist overnight. Taken inside hot
drink during the day. Used in the presence of kidney stones and bladder, gastritis and stomach ulcers.

Decoctions for compresses are used for dermatoses and itchy skin rashes.

Burdock is popularly known as an effective topical hair growth agent.

A decoction of burdock (for external use) is prepared from 1 tablespoon of chopped root in 2 cups of water, boiled for 30 minutes and filtered. In the evening before going to bed, every 2 days for 3-4 months, rub a decoction of burdock root (you can use the same amount of decoction of calamus root) into the scalp, and as a result, the hair will become thicker, silky, fluffier.

A decoction of burdock root is used for baths and compresses for arthritis, arthrosis, rheumatism, joint pain.

Burdock extract (alcoholic infusion) from burdock root is made with vodka in a ratio of 1:10, which is used to lubricate the affected areas.

In a mixture with other plants, burdock root is recommended for gastritis, hemorrhoids, gout.

A decoction of the root (inside) is taken in order to regulate carbohydrate metabolism, with rickets, benign and malignant neoplasms, hemorrhages.

It has been noticed that it has a pronounced ability to delay the growth of tumors.

A decoction of burdock seeds is taken for constipation. To do this, 20 g of burdock seeds are boiled in 200 ml of water, infused for 20 minutes, filtered. Take 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day.

In the treatment of diabetes mellitus, burdock root is combined with bean pods and blueberry leaves (equally) and such a decoction is taken inside. A decoction of burdock root has been successfully taken as a diuretic and cleanser, sometimes in combination with plants that have a similar effect.

Hair burdock. To eliminate hair loss, prepare an ointment with a thickened decoction of burdock. The broth is prepared from 15 g of root and 200 ml of water, boiled in a water bath to half the volume, and then mixed in half with heated internal pork fat.

The cauldron, covered tightly with a lid, is placed in the oven for several hours. Then, if not all of the water has evaporated from this mass, it is drained. The thickened mass is an excellent tool for accelerating hair growth.

Burdock root ointment in combination with chamomile flowers, willow herb, and clefthoof root, taken equally, has a good therapeutic effect on eczema. A tablespoon of the mixture is boiled in 4 glasses of water, then 1 tablespoon of cow oil and 2 glasses of strong decoction of hay dust are added; again boiled in a water bath to a thick viscous sticky mass; having filtered and squeezed, mixed with glycerin, equally.

For burns, an ointment prepared from a condensed decoction of burdock root (4 tablespoons per 1 liter of boiling water) is used, which is taken 1 part to 4 parts of cow oil.

An infusion of burdock roots in almond, vaseline or olive oil called "burdock oil" (a pharmaceutical preparation) is used as a remedy against hair loss and accelerating hair growth.

Burdock juice is used for liver problems, for the treatment of various hepatitis and other diseases. In the spring of May, it is useful to drink juice from burdock leaves. To do this, pass the burdock leaves through a meat grinder and squeeze the juice out of them.
The juice is very bitter and should be drunk immediately before meals, 1 tbsp. spoon. Take 1 week, then take a break for 1 week, and drink again for 1 week.
It is advisable to drink 1 liter per season. juice with a break of 1 week. The treatment is very effective and is recommended annually.

Also, fresh burdock juice is used to treat purulent wounds, burns, cuts, ulcers, you can use crushed leaves instead of juice.

You can preserve burdock juice with alcohol and honey, or honey alone, and then you must store it in the refrigerator. The recipe is as follows: for half a liter of burdock juice - 150 ml of alcohol and 150 ml of liquid honey, mix everything, or dilute with honey 1: 1. For adults, take 1-2 tablespoons, 3 times a day before meals.

We often hear people say about someone: "You are swollen"... This expression means that a person hung up his ears like burdock leaves, trusted someone and made a mistake, went nuts. Indeed, the leaves of burdock are huge, they are perhaps the largest among all plants in the European part of Russia. And this feature is willingly used by many gardeners.

I myself more than once tore off the largest leaves on burdock plants that grew wildly on the slope of a nearby reclamation ditch in order to shelter the seedlings of marrows, squash and other plants that had just been planted in the open ground from the bright sun. Of course, everyone knows that it is best to plant tender seedlings in cloudy weather, but if the weather is sunny, and the seedlings are outgrowing, then you still need to plant. Better to do it in the evening. Everything is extremely simple: plant seedlings, water abundantly, and then from the southern side, from where the bright sun will be shining at noon, insert a long petiole of burdock leaf into the soil with a slight slope towards the planted plant (if the ground is dense, you can make a hole with a stick for the diameter petiole). And a protective green screen - a burdock leaf - will stand next to the seedlings. Then a burdock leaf, devoid of nutritious juices, will begin to lose turgor, lean towards the seedlings, covering it with a kind of umbrella. It will only be necessary to check all these "umbrellas" in the morning so that they do not crush the seedlings. In a day or two, when young plants take root, you can remove this dried up shelter.

This is the first little benefit that gardeners can derive from the familiar, and sometimes annoying burdock (everyone is familiar with its prickly balls containing achenes, which, after ripening, cling to clothing and are removed after walking in nature only after much effort). It is not by chance that the saying among the people appeared: "Clung like a burr"... In addition, the Latin name for burdock is lappa - means "cling"... But burdock is not so simple, it has many others useful propertiesabout which the conversation will go.

Plant features

Burdock (Arctium lappa) Is a biennial herb belonging to the Asteraceae family. Its other names are also known among the people: burdock, burr, burdock... It grows everywhere in our country, it can be found near dwellings in villages, in garbage bins, along roads, in a garden, in a vegetable garden, along streams, in fields and at the edges of forests. In the first year, this plant forms basal leaves on long petioles, and in the second year it expels a high branched stem (up to 120 cm and above). The main feature of burdock is a long taproot that penetrates into the soil to a depth of 60 cm and deeper (depending on the quality and looseness of the soil). The leaves of the burdock are also noteworthy, especially the basal ones - they are large, ovoid, up to half a meter long, and the leaves formed on the stem, as they approach the crown of the plant, decrease in size. From above, they are all green in color, and the lower part of the leaves is gray tomentose. Pubescence is present both on the stems and on the branches.

Burdock flowers are tubular, they are collected in large spherical baskets of red-violet color, and are placed on peduncles on the stem and branches. Burdock blooms in June-July, seeds ripen in August-September. After ripening, the achenes cling to the clothes of people passing by, to the wool of animals and are transferred to new places, and this is how burdock multiplies. After the seeds ripen in the second year of life, the large burdock dies, and its seeds, which have fallen into favorable conditions, begin a new two-year life.

The healing properties of burdock

Burdock has long been used in folk medicine. Almost all parts of this plant were used for medicinal purposes: the root, leaves and tops with flowers were harvested.

Procurement of raw materials

Root herbalists recommend harvesting plants in the first year of life, they then have the greatest strength. Dig them up in the fall. If you did not manage to dig them up in the fall, then you can do this in the spring - in the second year of the burdock's life, but only before the first leaves appear on it. The roots are dug out carefully, trying not to damage the surface skin, carefully cleaned from the ground (do not wash), cut into pieces and dried at a temperature of 40 ° C in country attics, where the temperature is quite high during the day, or at home. The leaves and flowering crown of the burdock are harvested during flowering and also dried in the shade in a ventilated room.

At all burdock root was used not only as a medicine. It turned out that it is quite applicable in cooking. It was used and is still used boiled, fried, baked. Add to borscht and soups instead of potatoes, carrots, parsley. True, you can take not any roots, but only from plants of the first year of life. Used in cooking and young shoots of burdock, peeled, and young leaves - in salads and cabbage soup. It is known that in Japan, whose inhabitants very widely and skillfully use many plants for culinary purposes, now one of the types of burdock is specially grown in the beds.

But the main glory of the burdock was brought by him medicinal properties... In my younger years, working in the garden, I sometimes got bruises. On the advice of an elderly neighbor, I was looking for burdock plants, tore off its leaves and applied them with the bottom, felt side, to the bruised place. Then he wrapped it with a cloth and fixed it on his leg with elastic bands or a bandage and walked like that all day or made such a bandage at night. Burdock helped relieve pain and edema. One friend, who had arthritis, made the same bandages on sore joints - on the arms and legs.

A burdock root large was used and is used for rheumatism of the joints, gout, coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, constipation. Preparations from the root help cleanse blood vessels, have a diuretic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, diaphoretic properties, they reduce uric acid in the blood.

Useful properties of burdock large are attributed to its rich and valuable chemical composition. Burdock roots contain mucus, essential oil, fatty oil consisting of palmitic and stearic acids, as well as inulin, tannins and bitter substances, glycosides, alkaloids, resins, protein, starch, sugar, mineral salts, vitamins C, groups B, E, D, carotene. Due to the content of polysaccharides in the plant, the deposition of glycogen in the liver increases and the insulin-forming function of the pancreas improves.

The use of burdock root in official medicine

Burdock roots large in the form of decoctions and infusions is taken as a diuretic, choleretic and diaphoretic. Its preparations are also effective when used externally in the treatment of seborrhea, acne, eczema, itching and furunculosis.

Burdock root is included in diaphoretic charges, complex charges for the treatment of gout and metabolic arthritis. Burdock oil is also used in cosmetology - to strengthen hair in case of baldness.

Decoction of burdock roots

To obtain it, you need to place one tablespoon of dry burdock roots (10 g) in an enamel bowl and pour one glass of boiling water (200 ml). Then close the container with a lid and put in a water bath for half an hour, often stirring the liquid. After removing from heat, cool the broth for 10 minutes, strain, and squeeze out the remaining raw material of the root. Bring the resulting volume of broth to the original (200 ml) with boiled water. This broth can be stored in a cool place for no more than a day.

In folk medicine, the range of application of preparations of roots and other parts of burdock is much wider.

For example, an infusion of burdock roots is used in the presence of kidney stones and bladder stones, as well as gastritis, stomach ulcers and some other diseases.

Infusion of burdock roots

For its preparation, one teaspoon (this is about 5 g) of dry crushed root is placed in a thermos and poured with half a liter of boiling water. Insist during the night. Then the resulting infusion is drunk hot during the day. If there is no thermos, the container with the root filled with boiling water must be carefully wrapped overnight. Just before use, the liquid will have to be heated. Thermos is still better.

Big burdock decoction

It is used for baths and compresses for joint pain, as well as for arthritis, arthrosis, rheumatism. Such a decoction is prepared from one tablespoon of dry crushed burdock roots and two glasses of water. The roots are poured with water and boiled over low heat for half an hour, and then filtered.

This broth can be used by women to strengthen hair and improve its appearance. Before going to bed, the broth should be rubbed into the hair skin for several months. They do it in two days. And then the hair will become thicker and silky

Burdock seed infusion

Its traditional healers advise taking it for constipation. The seeds are harvested as they ripen and can be stored for three years. To prepare such an infusion, you need to take 20 g of burdock seeds and pour them with a glass of boiling water (200 ml). After that, leave for 20 minutes and drain. Take an infusion of 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day.

Large burdock juice

It is obtained from burdock leaves plucked in May. They are washed, dried and immediately passed through a meat grinder, and then the juice is squeezed out through cheesecloth. It must be taken before meals, one tablespoon. The course of treatment is two weeks with a week break: take juice for one week, and then take a week break and take again a week. In chronic hepatitis, an annual treatment is recommended.

Such juice from fresh young leaves, mixed with crushed leaves, is applied to purulent wounds, ulcers, burns, bedsores, tumors, and cuts.

Burdock infusion

To obtain an infusion, the fruits of burdock, together with the pericarp, dried in the shade, are ground into powder and then two tablespoons of the powder are poured with half a liter of boiling water and infused overnight. Drink a glass of infusion in the morning on an empty stomach, and in the evening - drink the same amount of infusion before meals.

Infusion of burdock leaves

It is prepared from two tablespoons of dry crushed burdock leaves. They are placed in a bowl and poured with half a liter of boiling water and insisted overnight. Then strain the infusion and drink 3/4 cup three times a day a quarter of an hour before meals or one hour after meals.

This infusion is taken in the treatment of hepatic and renal edema, cholecystitis, cholelithiasis and kidney stones, as well as non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, prostatitis.

Burr oil

It is produced by the industry and sold in pharmacies and shops. This oil helps with burns, wounds, frostbite, hair loss.

You can also make this oil at home. To do this, you need to infuse chopped burdock roots in olive oil for two weeks.

Burdock ointment

Take 25 g of leaves and 25 g of burdock roots, chop them. Then pour them into a bowl and boil for 20 minutes in 100 ml of water. Then thoroughly grind everything in 100 g of butter. This ointment can be used to prevent and treat hair loss, burns, frostbite.

Contraindications

Like many other herbal preparations, it is not recommended to consume burdock and preparations from it during pregnancy and lactation. An individual intolerance to this plant is also possible. Consult your doctor.

| Burdock is a natural healer
-------

"Burdock" is the popular name for large burdock. It is one of the most common plants growing in different parts of the world due to its undemanding soil conditions. The thorns that cling to literally any surface carry its seeds over great distances. In Russian folklore, the stable phrase "stuck like a burdock" has survived to this day, which defines the main feature and emphasizes the extraordinary vitality and adaptability of burdock. Perhaps in this way the plant organism wants to attract the attention of people. And there are good reasons for this.
Burdock has a unique chemical composition. The inulin contained in it is considered an indispensable substance for the normal course of metabolic processes in the body, therefore decoctions and infusions from the plant are used for liver diseases, diabetes mellitus, and endocrine diseases. Its powerful and juicy root is a real storehouse of vitamins, acids, and mineral salts. Burdock oil is prepared from it - a famous and highly effective medicine for getting rid of scalp and hair problems.
The annual roots of the plant are a natural delicacy that satisfies appetite well and heals the body. From different parts of the burdock, drugs are created for the treatment of various diseases of the skin, joints, kidneys, liver, gastrointestinal tract, and endocrine system. Since ancient times, the leaves of burdock are known to mankind as an analgesic, wound healing, decongestant and antineoplastic agent.
Burdock plays a special role in cosmetology. It is included in many cosmetic preparations for the care of hair and nails, dry skin of the face and body. Its action is aimed at accelerating the growth of hair and nails, restoring their structure, giving them shine and volume, strengthening the roots.
The oil obtained from the roots of the plant prevents hair loss, eliminates itching and dryness of the scalp, relieves dandruff and seborrhea. The main component of this drug is bardan oil, which has a beneficial effect on the condition of the skin.
This book provides only minor information on the practical use of the healing properties of burdock.

Big burdock (lat.Actium lappa) is a biennial herb and belongs to the Asteraceae family. Popular names - burdock, burdock, burdock root, hedgehog, burdock.

Such a variety is known as felt burdock, which is distinguished by cobweb-fluffy flower baskets and a stem. Both species have an identical structure and have certain medicinal properties.

The distribution area of \u200b\u200bthe plant covers the central and southern zone of the European part of Russia, Siberia and Central Asia. Due to its unpretentiousness and endurance, burdock grows almost everywhere - in wastelands, gardens, vegetable gardens, weedy places, in ravines, along roadsides and along river banks. It owes its name to dark purple flowers collected in globular baskets and protected by tenacious hooked wrappers.
The plant has an erect and shaggy stem from 70 to 150 cm long, a short rhizome, large broad-ovate leaves, green above, with adpressed hairs, and grayish-tomentose, fluffy below. In the first year, the basal leaves are formed, in the second - the stem. The root extending to a great depth is pivotal, that is, almost unbranched.
The plant blooms in June - September. The fruits are achenes with a short tuft, uneven and multi-row bristles. It is they who, after ripening, easily adhere to the clothes of people and animal hair - in this way the seeds are transferred over long distances. After flowering and ripening of fruits, the burdock dies off.
The collection of raw materials is carried out during flowering or in autumn. Traditional medicine uses the roots and leaves of the plant, folk medicine uses almost all of its parts. The peculiarities of their use are due to the specificity of the active substances contained in them.

Burdock roots contain the carbohydrate inulin - an indispensable substance for metabolic processes in the human body, which is especially important in the treatment of metabolic diseases. Bardan oil, also extracted from the roots, has a beneficial effect on the condition of the skin, is characterized by antiseborrheic and antiseptic properties, is a part of burdock oil and is used for the preparation of cosmetic preparations for skin care. Bitterness and tannins determine the widespread use of the plant for the treatment of diseases of the stomach, intestines, liver, kidneys, and gall bladder. The roots and leaves are rich in mucus, palmitic, salicylic and stearic acids, sitosterol and stigmasterol, mineral salts. The burdock contains vitamins A, B, C, E, P and protein. The chemical composition of the plant determines its medicinal properties.

Medicinal properties are more or less characteristic of all parts of the burdock: root, leaves, flowers. It was found that the drugs prepared from them have a diuretic, diaphoretic, blood-purifying, analgesic, antimicrobial, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory effect and are widely used in medical practice in different countries of the world. For example, in China, burdock is used for insect and snake bites, edema, eczema, boils and hemorrhages. In Germany, it is considered a powerful blood-purifying agent for skin diseases (itching, acne, boils), as well as a powerful diuretic and diaphoretic drug for the treatment of kidney stones, gout and rheumatism. Traditional medicine of our country recommends dosage forms from a plant for a variety of diseases.
It is believed that burdock root is most effective, infusions and decoctions from which increase the activity of the body's digestive system. They cause increased bile secretion, promote the secretion of liver digestive enzymes, improve intestinal motility, have a mild laxative effect and regulate metabolism. The polysaccharide inulin contained in the root activates the production of insulin, increases the level of glycogen and normalizes lipid metabolism. The plant has the ability to remove toxins and toxins from the body and increase immunity. Burdock preparations improve the trophism and condition of the skin, eliminate itching and allergic manifestations, relieve inflammation, disinfect wounds, burns, cuts and bites and have the ability to quickly restore tissue structure, that is, they have a regenerating effect. Recent experiments by scientists have confirmed the presence of one more feature - the burdock root increases the body's resistance to the development of benign and malignant tumors. Antitumor activity was revealed in the aglycone arktigenin contained in it.
The healing effect of burdock leaves is known to everyone from infancy. Surely many have used this tool in a country life. Parents usually pluck a huge burdock leaf growing literally under their feet and apply it to the child's wounds or burns. Leaves also help with headaches. Most often they are used in their natural form, that is, they do not require special treatment, but for itching, hives, lichen, eczema, boils, acne, they are used in a crushed or crushed state. With a closed inflammatory process of the joints, stretching or bruising, a fresh burdock leaf is applied to the sore spot for resorption of hematomas and exudates. The flabbiness and thinning of the used product testifies to the course of the treatment process. In case of diseases of the mouth and throat, it is useful to remember the antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties of infusions of leaves and roots of burdock. They quickly suppress the development of inflammatory processes and destroy microbes.
An infusion of plant roots in vegetable oil (olive or almond) called burdock oil is known as a topical hair strengthening agent. It is used not only by women, but also by men, as its components prevent baldness. The drug gives the hair a vibrant shine, strengthens its roots and accelerates growth, relieves dandruff and seborrhea.
Young shoots of burdock are often used for food, especially in Japan, where the plant ("gabo") is even cultivated for this purpose. The value of burdock consists in the content of a large amount of vitamins C and E. The latter is a substance that prevents premature aging. A natural delicacy is the succulent roots of an annual plant, which are consumed naturally and processed. They are boiled, fried, baked, cutlets or mashed potatoes are made from them, tortillas are baked. Dry ground root is added to the dough, as a result of which the baked goods quickly become golden brown. Even desserts are made from it - sweet and sour jam and marmalade, and coffee is brewed from roasted roots. The leaves peeled from the skin are used for making salads and dressing in soups and borscht. In addition, if you first wrap the greens plucked from the summer cottage in burdock leaves, it will retain its freshness for a long time.
Herbal medicine has several dosage forms obtained from different parts of the plant.

The most common forms are infusions, decoctions, tinctures, ointments, juice, as well as the famous burdock oil and leaves, which eliminate pain, relieve inflammation and heal wounds. Preparation of drugs is quite possible at home, as it usually does not cause any difficulties.
Leaves. They are used naturally, crushed and mashed. In the first case, the burdock is applied to the site of injury or pain with the underside - not green, but grayish-felt; in others, it is cut coarsely or finely, or pressed with a wooden spoon or crush.
The juice. It is an excellent drug, has a diuretic, choleretic, antibacterial, anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory effects. The drug belongs to antirheumatic and antidiabetic agents, improves the functioning of the stomach, intestines, liver, regulates protein absorption and metabolism, and normalizes blood composition. It is rubbed into the scalp to strengthen the hair roots, or applied to cuts, burns, wounds and ulcers. Juice is obtained from squeezed leaves, previously passed through a meat grinder.
Infusions. Fresh or dry leaves, flowers and roots are used as raw materials. They are designed for outdoor or indoor use. The preparations are prepared in cold and hot ways. In the first, the crushed parts of the plant are poured with water at room temperature and insisted for a certain time in a closed form, in the second, boiling water or preheated vegetable oil is used. Then the infusion is filtered through a gauze folded in 3 layers.
Tinctures. They are prepared from crushed roots, seeds or leaves of burdock. Vegetable raw materials are poured with alcohol or vodka and insisted in a dark, cool place at a temperature not exceeding 20 ° C, after which the tincture is filtered or left in the same form. In this case, the following rule applies: the longer the plant fragments are in alcohol, the higher the healing properties of the drug, which can be used for external and internal use.
Broths. This dosage form is prepared in different ways, but in all cases, the roots, leaves or seeds of the plant are poured with water, put on low heat and boiled. Then the broth is filtered and used for ingestion for rickets, diabetes mellitus, diseases of the liver, kidneys, bladder, malignant neoplasms, etc. It is used for applying compresses and lotions, as well as for baths for pain in joints, rheumatism, skin diseases.
Ointments. Usually, the crushed parts of the plant (mainly roots and leaves) are mixed with animal fat or the prepared infusions and decoctions are boiled for a long time or evaporated over low heat with vegetable oil. Ointments are intended for external use in the treatment of wounds, burns, skin diseases, hemorrhoids, hair loss.
Root extract. This dosage form is an extract of active substances from this part of the burdock or juice. It has anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, laxative, diuretic and choleretic effects. It is used for alcohol poisoning, intoxication with poisons and chemical irritants, metabolic and digestive disorders, as well as for the treatment of diseases of the joints and spine. The tool is able to eliminate problem skin conditions, heal wounds, burns, ulcers. The drug is indicated for use in viral infections, accompanied by an increase in body temperature. In oncology, it is used as a medicine to alleviate the condition of patients. A contraindication is a specific reaction of the body to the drug.
Burr oil. Now it is impossible to establish who and when created this wonderful drug. It seems to have been around for several centuries. In Soviet times, burdock oil was the only remedy recognized by official medicine that was used to eliminate various problems associated with hair and scalp. The drug is made from the root of a plant and contains all its active substances.
It strengthens the hair roots, accelerates their growth, eliminates dandruff, itching, dry skin, and also stops the process of hair loss and restores its structure, damaged by chemicals used for dyeing and curling. The oil is used for thinning hair, loss of shine, split ends, baldness. It should be said that it also has a beneficial effect on the condition of the skin of the face, hands and body, moisturizing and nourishing dry and aging skin. In addition, long-term practice confirms the high effectiveness of the healing properties of the drug.
To prepare the oil, the whole burdock root is washed under running water, rubbed on a fine grater, poured with vegetable oil, infused for 24 hours in a dark cool room, then the infusion is placed on low heat and kept for 15 minutes, without boiling, after which the prepared product is filtered and poured into a glass bottle. The oil is rubbed into the scalp with massaging movements 1 hour before the hygiene procedures, then cover the head with wax paper or plastic wrap and wrap it with a towel.
There are many ways to use burdock oil, since it is used in its natural form and in a mixture with other medicinal plants and preparations. For example, the extract of stinging nettle, introduced into the composition of the product, has an additional complex of biologically active substances - vitamin K, carotenoids, chlorophyll and phytosterols. The added propolis significantly increases the strength of the hair, prevents breakage, nourishes the roots and scalp, has a bactericidal effect, eliminates dryness and itching.
Burdock oil with horsetail extract and ceramides (silicon compounds) restores hair structure, reduces hair loss and is used mainly after chemotherapy. Ginkgo biloba leaf extract improves peripheral circulation, strengthens hair roots and stimulates the function of the hair follicle.
Analysis of the properties of burdock allows us to assert that the plant preparations have a pronounced beneficial effect on the state of human health and its appearance.

This plant has several names - burdock, burdock or burdock. It is considered a weedy, unpretentious plant that grows near human habitation - along roads, in gardens, in meadows, in fields. This broadleaf plant got the name "burdock" because in the old days the leaf was called "lop".

In the first year of life, the burdock grows huge leaves, and in the second - a tall stem, which is taller than human growth, with small purple flowers. Then the plant dies off.

Burdock blooms in summer. Its purple-red crested flowers are pretty pretty. When they bloom, in their place there are round baskets with sharp spines-hooks. With the help of these thorns, they cling to everything that is nearby. And the plant only needs that: baskets with seeds are carried away on animal hair, human clothes and settle in all sorts of directions from the mother plant.

After all, another name for burdock is burdock. It is believed that this word came from the East, where it is consonant with words, the meaning of which is: "to grab, rip off, cling." It is clear why such a name was given to burdock baskets? There is even a saying: "Clung like a burr."

It was a long time ago that the French attacked the Russian people. The French were soon driven out. And returning home, French soldiers brought burdock seeds on their clothes. They called these seeds "Russian contagion" for their stickiness. Since then, burdock or burdock has settled in France and all neighboring countries.

The scientific name for burdock is "lappa" - from the Greek word for "grabbing."

"Burdock", - they sometimes say dismissively about someone. An idiot means a simpleton who can be easily deceived. Even some plants with large leaves are called "burdocks". Burdock is considered the most common plant that can be found under any fence and in every ditch.

A tincture is prepared from burdock leaves, which is then sprayed with garden plants. Such plants will give a good harvest, because they will not be afraid of caterpillars and other pests.

This is our burdock - a weed, and in some countries, as a valuable food product, it is grown in gardens and used in cooking.

Burdock is very often used in medicine. For the preparation of medicines, roots are most often used, less often leaves and fruits. With the help of this plant, they treat diseases, heal wounds, and strengthen hair. Perhaps some of you mothers rubbed burdock oil on your head. No wonder there were such sayings: "Burdock - from a hundred ailment", "Burdock did not stick, good when health is not enough!".

Burdock is a good honey plant. Burdock honey is dark and stringy, but highly nutritious. is he - excellent feed for livestock. But for sheep, burdock or burdock is harmful - it spoils their wool.

They say that burdock can predict rain. There is such a popular omen: "Before the rain, burdock cones straighten their hooks."

Burdock is an oil plant. The oil squeezed out of its seeds is not suitable for food - it is bitter. They use it for another - they prepare medicines, drying oil, soap.

"Bear-grass" is also called burdock. This plant got its name long ago, back in ancient times. Maybe because the burdock is big, heavy, strong, like a bear. Or maybe because even then people knew the property of burdock: it accumulates nutrients from autumn to winter, like a bear does. Thanks to last year's reserves, in the spring burdock begins to grow by leaps and bounds.

But the famous velcro fastener was invented by the Swiss engineer Georges de Mestral. Somehow his dog returned from a walk, all covered with burdock. After cleaning the dog's fur, the inventor looked at the burdock through a microscope out of curiosity - and found small thorns that helped the plant to cling. Then Georges made two ribbons with similar hooks - an excellent fastener turned out. And today we are happy to use Velcro instead of buttons and laces.

Even such a simple weed plant as burdock, or burdock, burdock, can bestow, teach, feed, cure. Take care of this green wealth growing under our feet!

Nobody grows on the hillock

Angry, disheveled burr.

They don't take it in a bouquet

And he has no grief.

He stands dark-headed

Until spring in the snow.

But hungry birds

He is a beautiful flower to dream:

There is no more delicious food for them,

Than a tousled burdock!
